us
The Brentry & Henbury
Children’s Centre was opened in May 2004 and was the fruition
of over 5 years of hard work by a dedicated team of people. Since
then we have grown almost daily and now provide a range of child
care and support services to families living in our local community.
We were originally set
up as a Neighbourhood Nursery as part of the government initiative
to help parents and carers back to work and education. We continue
to be a non-profit making Charity and our original building was
funded principally from the National Lotteries. We are now a fully
operational Children’s Centre and receive ongoing support
from Bristol City Council. We provide high quality stimulating,
affordable and accessible care and early education to young children
within their own community, alongside a range of community parent
groups and a home visiting service were needed. The Centre has
a committed team who form a united and forward thinking team of
professionals who work hard to provide the very best in all aspects
of care and education.
It is philosophy of the Children’s
Centre that all Children regardless of
ability, disability, race, religion or culture are welcome to
come to our Centre to play, learn, and develop alongside their
peers in a stimulating and safe environment.
The Centre has recently been extended
to include a new purpose built community building. The community
services include Parent & Toddler groups, drop-in groups,
and a range of parent support groups.
We also have a new Outreach Centre
at Henbury Court Primary School. These services are gradually
increasing and will offer a range of parent and child groups to
serve the local community.
