Children enter this area usually after they reach their third birthday and remain here until they leave us for school. These areas offer the children a little more structure and the activities and plans encourage e the children to be independent learners. We encourage the children to plan their activities with the support of parents and key workers and to talk about the activities they have taken part in during the session.
We work in partnership with the local schools that the children are to attend. All children learn through play, becoming active explorers and participants in their own environment and development. All of the children have their own key person and have a Learning Diary, where we record all the interesting things they say and do and their next steps for learning! We have a wide range of activities available every day which also includes lots of physical activities and messy play! We encourage the children to spend a part of each day outside in the garden regardless of the weather.
Planning for both these areas is led by an Early Years Teacher with the support of the team. Lily and Playdays rooms are often noisy, but always happy, rooms where the children play and learn together whilst having fun!
We offer full daycare places from 8am to 6pm in Lily room with a maximum of 24 children in this area at any one time, and also offer daycare from 08:30 to 4:30pm in Playdays Room.
Both rooms also take children that are only attending nursery grant sessions. These sessions are held in the morning between 09:00 - 12:00 and in the afternoon between 12:45 - 15:45. Nursery grant sessions are for a maximum of 15 hours term time only or 12 hours all year round, however you can only recieve your Free Flexible Entitlement for a maximum of 6 hours in any one day.
Every child has a key person to care for them and to liaise with parents, however every member of the team is familiar with the needs of every child.
